kindly read to understand :
Wash & soak 4 cups of rice and fenugreek together for 2 or 3 hours minimum.upto 6 hrs maximum
Wash & soak 1 cup urad with 3 cups of water.Can be kept in refrigerator as long as rice is kept.Rice should be in kitchen only.Only soaked urad should be kept in refrigerator.
While grinding strain water from urad and use the same to grind.Use all the water while grinding.Urad absorbs all the water and becomes light & frothy.
Take out from grinder. Grind rice with just necessary water till it is very fine rawa consistency.Mix both together in the grinder itself with salt just for a short while just for that to get mixed evenly.Add grinder washed water -Just required to get batter correct consistency.
Allow to ferment.
Do not add water next day to batter before keeping
idlis.

Does urad dal soak properly when kept in refrigerator? Also normally Fenugreek seeds will be soaked along with urad. Why it should be soaked and grinded with rice instead?
Now a days we are using two stone grinder.In this urad gets ground faster.Fenugreek stays as it is in between.So i started using with rice.If you are having old type heavy grinder you can do as you wish.

Rice for 3 hrs.Same time urad in refrigerator.Water for urad should be 1:3
